Special Achievements

This is a hard page to keep up-to-date as barely a day passes by without some special achievement taking place.  Each year we have been thrilled by the success of our students in the various Academic Competitions (Mathematics, Science, English, Computing, etc), with many students gaining Credits, Distinctions and High Distinctions. 

Wollumbin High has a strong reward system based around our Whole-School Outcomes - Responsible Citizenship; Problem Solving And Decision Making; Technological Capabilities; Self Directed Learning; Self-Esteem As A Learner; Academic Achievement; Communication Skills; Cooperation And Teamwork.  Students can receive "Commends" in any of these areas, which in turn can be converted into Outcomes Awards, Deputy Principal's Awards and Principal's Awards. 

Throughout the year every student from Years Seven to Eleven collects examples of their best work from each of their subjects in a Quality Portfolio. At the end of the year each student is expected to present this folio to a panel consisting of a staff member, a representative from the local community and a student from the previous year group, explaining the manner in which they have addressed the Whole School Outcomes through their learning. The Quality Portfolio encourages students to strive for continual improvement of their schoolwork and celebrates their achievements in all facets of school life.
